From Peru to Indonesia, Ukraine and all the way to Denmark \u2013 24Slides is\nmade up of people from different cultures joined together as a family with the\nsame passion that\u2019s characteristic of our company. And this passion is\nsomething we can see clearly in Thea, this post\u2019s featured employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thea is an outspoken and determined girl who loves challenges, and at\n24Slides, she has found exactly the motivating environment she always wanted. As\nTobias and the team are constantly encouraging her to improve and take on new\nresponsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thea enjoys travelling and good food, making it a point to find new\ncafes and restaurants in any new city she visits. She also likes to play\nhandball, and has been on a team for some time that practices twice a week,\nalthough she can\u2019t do it as often recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originally from Norway, Thea moved to Denmark to study her bachelor\u2019s\nand then her master\u2019s, before getting a job at 24Slides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was really random\u201d she laughs. \u201cI had an internship while I was\ndoing my master thesis, and I really wanted to work for a start-up so I applied\nto a bunch of companies I\u2019d never heard of before, and then I got an interview\nand was hired at the company\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\nTravelling to beautiful places<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
Having studied Innovation and Business Development, Thea was very\ninterested in start-up companies. At the time, 24Slides had about 20 employees\nand was looking for someone to fill the Customer Success position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thea connected with Tobias during the interview and although there were\nother candidates with more experience, Tobias saw something special in her and\ncalled her in for a trial period. Full of courage, she decided to take a chance\non this growing company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Originally, Thea didn\u2019t know much about the company or how it was set up\nwith the Indonesia team. \u201cI remember Tobias asked me if I had any cultural\nexperience or if I worked with people from Asia before, and I answered\nsomething like: \u2018yeah, group studies with Chinese people\u2019\u201d she laughs. \u201cI had\nno idea what it was\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIndonesia team<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
However, having studied Business Language Culture as well came in pretty\nhandy for her, allowing her to establish and maintain good relationships with\nthe Malang team fairly quickly and easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAs a Scandinavian, I\u2019m a very direct person, and some people think I\u2019m\nscary sometimes. It\u2019s something I\u2019ve learned to adjust to while working with\nthe team in Indonesia, because people from Scandinavia will understand it, but\npeople from other cultures may think I\u2019m angry\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And although Thea may feel that way, in reality, everyone knows how much\nshe does for the company and admires her for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\nSelfie time!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
As Thea is a very organized and structured person who is good at\nconnecting with others, she has always been able to take on new challenges and implement\nnew processes to improve the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTobias is really good at offering responsibility. If you\u2019re willing to\ntake it, you can grow a lot, and I did\u201d she says proudly. In fact, having\nstarted as a recently graduated student with no experience, her growth in the 5\nyears that she\u2019s been in the company is visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thea has been so involved in everything in the company that her role\ndescription is not necessarily clear. \u201cThere\u2019s Angger who\u2019s the expert designer\nor Rizal who\u2019s the expert at support, and I\u2019m just on top of that\u201d she says\nlaughing. \u201cBut I hope people can see it as a good thing\u201d sure enough, that also\nmeans she can always help in many things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And one of the things that makes her really proud is seeing the progress\nof the company and how everything she\u2019s done can be applied as well in an\noffice in another country such as Peru. The Peru office was able to be\nestablished so fast and seamlessly due to everyone\u2019s hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\nIn Peru!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWhat I really like about this company is that we\u2019re always hiring new\npeople and giving them a chance, while focusing on really training them. You\ndon\u2019t need to have ten years of experience to work here, and that\u2019s really\nnice. There\u2019s a lot of room to grow\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thea hopes she can continue learning with 24Slides for many more years,\nor even be able to join a new company created by one of our team members in the\nfuture.
