Christmas is the season for sharing; and after a wonderful year\nof growth and success we decided it was time to give back to the community. At\nsuch a special time, we wanted to bring joy to the smallest children at a local\norphanage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After getting in touch with the people and charge and\nagreeing on a time and date we planned our activities with the children and\nbought the materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The orphanage has kids from 3 months to almost 3 years old.\nAs these children are so small, instead of just bringing them toys as gifts we felt\nwe should bring them things that would be really useful as well such as\ndiapers, baby formula, wet wipes, etc.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the kids have families outside the orphanage such as\naunts, uncles or grandparents who are fighting for their custody to take them\nback. However, some of them don\u2019t have anyone and are put up for adoption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the children grow a bit more, if they\u2019re not adopted, they\u2019re\nsent to a different orphanage for bigger kids. These orphanages receive help\nand donations from people all year round; and there are volunteers coming to\nhelp take care of the kids often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the orphanage has many kids; only about half of\nthem could participate in the activity as the rest are too young and need more\nspecial care. Even so, we made sure to help them as much as we could by\ndonating things they need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The children have schedules for every activity; breakfast,\nplay time, nap time, lunch, etc., so we had to arrive early in the morning to\nbe able to share with them without disrupting their schedule. These children\nlearn from a young age to adapt and live as a society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the sun shining brightly and joyful hearts, we were\ngreeted by several little faces with big smiles full of excitement. We set up a\nbreakfast table with fruits, juice, yogurt and panettone to enjoy with\neveryone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a hearty breakfast, the children were full of energy!\nRunning all over, jumping, laughing and playing, they quickly made us feel at\nhome. While some kids loved playing with bubbles, others would excitedly run\naround; while some still wanted to keep drinking more juice or eating fruits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
