Working at 24Slides is far from an average job.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the experience is great simply because of how amazing the people are, we also have a purpose that inspires me every single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, I would like to share a bit about what it means to be a B Corp, along with a few key learnings I have gained through my role as Impact & Culture Ambassador at 24Slides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s dive in!<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What is a B Corp, and why does it matter to society?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In simple terms, a B Corp is a company that aims to achieve positive results beyond just profit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the B Corp Movement, this idea is often associated with \u201cthe triple bottom line<\/a>\u201d, which focuses on creating a positive impact across three key areas: People, Planet, and Profit<\/em><\/strong>.<\/em> During my time at 24Slides Peru, I have had the opportunity to experience all three areas firsthand.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to ‘People’<\/strong>, the working conditions at 24Slides are, for me, among our greatest strengths. As 24Sliders, we enjoy a hybrid, flexible work setup that allows us to maintain a healthy work-life balance<\/strong><\/a> and never miss out on important personal moments. Our overall well-being is also prioritized through a wellness membership<\/strong><\/a> that encourages us to stay active through various sports and recreational activities, with the option to book mental health sessions whenever we need them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond our internal team, this commitment to well-being naturally extends to our surrounding community<\/strong>. SlideAid<\/strong><\/a> is a great example of this: we focus on helping NGOs and non-profit organizations by redesigning their presentations and other graphic resources they need, completely free of charge. Through this, we aim to boost their reach among potential partners by providing top-tier visual tools that clearly communicate their message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The environment, or ‘Planet’<\/strong>, is another essential pillar for a B Corp and thus for 24Slides. We have successfully implemented a recycling program that has grown steadily over the years. In the last two years, we have recycled 384 kg in the Peruvian office, thanks to the combined efforts of the CSR team and the Impact Ambassadors<\/strong>. Without a doubt, this is a goal we want to keep pushing even further!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the third “P” is usually called ‘Profit<\/strong>‘, some B Corp leaders refer to it as ‘Prosperity’<\/strong>, and this last term makes so much more sense to me. This dimension highlights that business success should benefit everyone involved, not just investors. Naturally, this vision of sustainable Prosperity incorporates People + Planet in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 24Slides, this vision of Prosperity shows up through fair wages and through our<\/strong> Emergency Loan Program<\/strong><\/a>, an initiative that provides interest-free loans for difficult situations. It\u2019s worth noting that applying for this emergency fund is far more comfortable than dealing with a traditional bank, as there are no interest rates or uncomfortable questions involved, bringing real peace of mind to the employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through these practical examples, I believe the importance of the B Corps in our society is clear. While any company can implement some of the programs described above, a B Corp earns its certification precisely because these practices are sustained over time<\/strong> and remain subject to accountability by an external organization (in this case, B Lab). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Understanding these pillars on paper is one thing, but seeing them in action is what pushed me to step up internally and help bring this vision to life for the rest of the team.  <\/p>\n\n\n

My Experience as Impact & Culture Ambassador at 24Slides<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I have been working at 24Slides for 3.5 years now, and even though I\u2019m part of the Marketing team, I have experienced the B Corp mission every day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Right from the start, I was eager to participate in volunteer initiatives because I wanted to create a more direct, positive impact on different vulnerable populations. The activities that were most meaningful to me were those done with Nuevo Futuro<\/strong><\/a>, a shelter that cares for children and young people, and Aniquem<\/strong><\/a>, an NGO that provides comprehensive support to children with burn injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Over time, I started leading volunteer activities and occasionally supporting the CSR team. Thanks to this genuine interest in creating impact beyond my core role, I was appointed Impact & Culture Ambassador.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what is an Impact & Culture Ambassador? Basically, this person is an advocate for 24Slides\u2019 brand, values, and culture, promoting impact-driven initiatives that engage other 24Sliders and create positive change in our wider community.<\/p>\n\n\n

As an Ambassador, I gained more involvement in internal CSR programs<\/strong>. Some of the initiatives I enjoyed the most included supporting the promotion of our recycling program, planning an end-to-end B Corp Awareness event, and co-organizing activities during the Global Challenge week<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of this year\u2019s biggest challenges was co-organizing the first B Corp Awareness event in the Peru office with Xiomi, our PS & CSR Business Partner<\/strong>. This event aimed to raise awareness of the certification and provide a brief overview of B Corps from Peru and around the world. Despite multiple date changes, uncertainty about whether it would happen, and last-minute tweaks, I made sure to stay on top of every little detail. In the end, the event at the office was a big success and received great feedback from all the 24Sliders present.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supporting the CSR team as an Impact Ambassador has completely exceeded my expectations. Not only have I been able to help communities in need, but I have also strengthened my creative skills and developed strategies with total freedom, something I will always view as a major personal milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, stepping out of my comfort zone isn\u2019t always easy, but experiences like this remind me that some of the most rewarding growth happens when we dare to try something new.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

My role as an Impact & Culture Ambassador opened my mind and reaffirmed just how vital it is to have companies that take<\/strong> corporate sustainability seriously<\/strong><\/a>, treating it as a fundamental component of business strategy<\/strong> rather than just a marketing tactic or mere \u2018greenwashing\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


A Few Final Takeaways<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During my time as Impact & Culture Ambassador, I have learned a few key lessons I want to share today:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Following the B Corp mission is a dynamic journey.<\/strong> There is no guidebook for being a \u201cperfect\u201d B Corp, as every company has its own unique strengths and ways of generating a positive impact. For me, the secret is to keep finding ways to create value and, most importantly, not be afraid to make mistakes along the way.\u00a0
    <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Being part of a B Corp means being part of a community.<\/strong> While organizing the first B Corp Awareness event in Peru, I learned that impact grows exponentially when we build synergies with companies that share our purpose. Working alone might be easier, but teamwork leads to far more comprehensive results.

  3. Making a difference around us relies on conviction.<\/strong> This works at both the personal and organizational levels. The positive change we want to see in our surroundings depends on the conviction and resilience of decision-makers. The needle truly moves when we keep an open mind and embrace change without fear.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Working at a B Corp-certified company is an incredible and deeply enriching experience. I\u2019m confident that I will continue learning and collecting memories that will nourish my professional and personal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
