In 24Slides, we believe in the power of education to change lives. As a B Corp-certified company, we’re always looking for new ways to create a positive impact in the world and turn our profits into purpose.
And that is precisely how our 24Academy initiative came to be!
From Indonesia to Peru
As a company, 24Slides has always been focused on the training and growth of our employees, providing courses to help them develop not only as professionals but also in their personal lives. Our internal platform, 24Academy, is the home for both design and career-relevant courses, as well as personal finances, communication skills, emotional intelligence, and much more. With these courses, we aim to encourage 24Slides members to improve and keep growing on a regular basis, one of our company’s core values.
However, our goals go way beyond just 24Slides members. We strive to create a positive impact in all the communities that surround us, especially those in emerging markets. For these, educational access is particularly relevant, as it enables them to access better professional opportunities that can also improve their overall quality of life.
That’s why, in May 2023, our first-ever external course for Presentation Design was launched in Malang, Indonesia, completely free of charge for anyone willing to learn the secret to creating outstanding slides. Thanks to the success of this pilot project, which opened 24Academy for external students, we soon launched a second version through November and December of the same year.
Thanks to Indonesia’s lessons, on August 6th, we were finally able to implement our first external program in Peru, “Introduction to Presentation Design.”
Just like in Malang, this online course was completely free. It consisted of five weeks of online classes with some of our expert designers from 24Slides’ Lima office. It tackled design tools like alignment, consistency, typography, and learning how to work with references, as well as using charts and tables in their presentations.
Boosting the Power to Do Good
The 24Academy Peru pilot project was specifically targeted at members of Peruvian NGOs, with 26 open seats for students from different organizations.
We chose NGO members because, from our previous experience implementing 24Academy Indonesia, we realized that in today’s fast-paced world, the ability to create high-impact presentations is more important than ever—especially for young NGOs with limited resources.
By mastering basic presentation design tools, these participants get the necessary skills to elevate not only their own projects but also become catalysts for broader change. By giving them the tools to visually communicate their message effectively, our goal was that their respective NGOs would attract more volunteers, reach a wider audience, and hopefully collect more donations, regardless of the size or scope of their organization.
Equipped with the ability to design impactful presentations, they will be able to share their messages with greater clarity, reaching not only donors and partners but also the communities they serve. In this way, they can extend the reach of their organization’s mission, bringing critical information to populations that need it most.

Becoming a Presentation Design Expert
To guarantee that students would develop practical skills to apply to their slides, the course also included two live sessions with 24Slides designers to discuss the class exercises and challenges and ask the teachers any questions they had.
For week 5, students had one final assignment: create a presentation for either Unicef or the Red Cross. These applied cases were designed so students could test their new skills in organizations with purposes similar to those of their NGOs.
Overall, the course was an absolute success. After the 5-week training, we talked to some of the students to gather feedback and learn what we could have done better.
I really liked the topics covered, I think these are essential for enhancing the preparation of PPTs. I also consider that the teachers were very clear in their explanations and motivational when putting the tools and tips into practice. — Sayuri Leon, Nuevo Futuro.
By the end of the program, 5 students had successfully completed the training and the final assignment and were given a certificate of completion. When asked to rate the usefulness and overall course experience, the average score was 8.75, with an average score of 9.19 for both recorded and live sessions with 24Slides designers.
This “Introduction to Presentation Design” course marks the first step in a much larger journey, as we aim to launch many more in the coming years. Our goal is to reach even more Peruvian NGOs, empowering them to create high-impact presentations that amplify their missions.
And, of course, over time, we hope to extend our reach to Peru’s most vulnerable populations, including students from low-income backgrounds. Together, we can unlock the power of impactful communication, ensuring that everyone has the tools to make their voices heard and their messages resonate.
We’ll always be committed to empowering our communities by offering people the chance to learn new skills and thereby increase their opportunities in life, whether this is related to professional or personal growth. We’re looking forward to what the future of 24Academy will allow us to achieve!
