Spreading Kindness: Ramadan Charity 2025

Ramadan charity 2025

Ramadan is a time of reflection, generosity, and community. However, for many underprivileged families, it is also a time of financial struggle. Many cannot afford basic food items, let alone special meals for iftar or Eid celebrations.

Our goal at 24Slides is to help design a better future for all. This means empowering our people to make a positive impact in the communities that surround them in turn. We’re always amazed by the way 24Sliders embody the company values and take them to the next level through kindness and commitment to those in need, and this Ramadan was no exception.

The Power of Giving Back

Like previous years, our colleagues in Malang, Indonesia, organized themselves to continue the tradition of giving back to the community, especially during such an important festivity. Over the years, the initiative has evolved from distributing meals to providing essential needs packages, sembako, to those that need them the most, ensuring a more targeted impact.

Our colleagues worked hand in hand with Harapan Ummat (HARUM), a local community organization that focuses on supporting vulnerable families. HARUM Family Center helped identify 90 underprivileged families that needed help alleviating their financial burdens, especially those with elderly caregivers, with low income or disabilities, as well as families providing care for neglected or abandoned children.

This year, we focused on families in three different sub-districts in Malang: Lowokwaru, Gadang, and Muharto. By providing sembako packages, this initiative aims to help these families meet their daily nutritional needs, offering temporary relief from economic struggles and instead, focusing on what Ramadan should be about —coming all together with family and friends.

Creating a Sense of Community

On March 22nd, our volunteers got to work sorting and packing the groceries to assemble the sembako packages. Each package contained essential items like rice, oil, sugar, noodles, and soy sauce. With all the packages ready, the volunteers delivered them door-to-door to ensure direct impact, guided by HARUM representatives in each area.

“The distribution of essential goods was more targeted, and as volunteers, we had the opportunity to meet the recipient children directly and share inspiring stories from Harum’s representative who guided us during the distribution.”

24Slides’ Volunteer

This type of charity initiative is an essential part of the social responsibility aspect of 24Slides, and it would be impossible without the commitment of all the volunteers who selflessly give Saturday and their effort to support those in need.

This year, 32 colleagues participated in the Ramadan Charity and reached more families than in any previous year, a 22% increase from 2024.

We wholeheartedly believe that people are eager to do good if given the opportunity. As a BCorp Certified business, it’s our duty to enable our colleagues and help them foster a sense of community, and 24Sliders always prove us right with their generosity.

“The best part of this initiative was distributing sembako (essential daily needs) to people on a door-to-door basis. It is great to know that this initiative really has a great impact on those in need. Also, contributing to this initiative made me realize that there are still people out there who deserve more attention and support. I’m truly glad to be a part of this initiative.”

24Slides’ Volunteer

By supporting this type of initiative, we also want to highlight the power of teamwork and the bonds we create by working together to build something bigger than each of us — something 24Slides prides itself on.

We’re thankful to the HARUM team for enabling 24Slides to continue to do good, and we’re looking forward to continuing to work together to create a positive impact in the world.

“The collaboration with 24Slides has been an incredible experience. The enthusiasm of 24Slides volunteers was contagious—not only to us but also to the target community. The collaborative model between HARUM, 24Slides, and the HARUM community is reciprocal in nature—mutually beneficial, though in different forms. I believe the impact will be more meaningful and heartfelt than just a typical donation.”

Ruly Noor Choirullah, Chairperson of HARUM Family Center

Ramadan is a time for giving, and this initiative ensures that less fortunate families can also experience the blessings of the season. We’re looking forward to continuing to support the communities that surround us and to make a positive impact, one slide at a time.

Ramadan Murabak!
