In order to keep track of your progress and achievements, you can use checklists as an easy and convenient way to mark off completed work. These are a visual way of determining when a task has been completed without having to redesign the presentation and split into categories. Every task is laid out just as before and the tick is an easily understandable visual representation of the status. Working down a list of tasks and seeing your progress as the list gets shorter can be motivating and clearly displays what has been achieved and what is yet to be achieved. You can use checklists in a multitude of ways, whether it’s a to-do list, to compare the features of multiple options, and as a timeline.
The most common use of a checklist is a to-do list, where the tasks for the day are laid out usually vertically, sometimes in no particular order. Using checkboxes adds order to the madness by allowing you to track completed tasks even if the order of events does not match the order on the list.
Frequently used when discussing features or specifications, you can use this technique to compare products or services any clearly see which ones offer the most, which have unique features and if there are some general options offered by all products.
By using checkboxes within a timeline you can create a quick visual representation of where the project is now, what has been completed and what are the next steps. It’s an additional feature to the timeline which only adds more visibility for all included stakeholders.
