24Slides’ Educational Support Program

Education is the foundation for building a sustainable future. By giving children access to quality information and educational resources, we secure citizens with the power to manage their future and positively impact society. But what happens when unexpected financial hardships threaten the continuation of their studies?

It’s been almost a year since we launched the 24Slides Emergency Loan Program for our colleagues in Indonesia and Peru. And one of the things we’ve learned is that most non-urgent requests are related to educational registration costs when enrolling children in school. These are hard situations our employees might face due to financial emergencies.

At 24Slides, we strongly believe every child deserves an education, so following our mission to empower people in emerging markets, we’re developing an Educational Support Program (ESP) in Indonesia (and next, Peru) to financially support our colleagues’ children’s access to education

Through the ESP, we’ll be able to provide 20% of the registration fee to colleagues who want to enroll their child(ren) in school and would like financial aid to do so. They can apply for one economic booster per child at any level of education, from kindergarten to senior high school.

The only requirement for our colleagues is to complete a personal finance course at 24Academy and hand in a plan for saving the remaining 80% of the registration fee. By requesting this savings plan, we aim to increase the number of kids attending school without badly impacting the family’s economic situation while indirectly reinforcing healthy money habits such as budgeting and planning ahead.

Alongside our other CSR initiatives, we’re delighted to bring 24Slides employees new opportunities that support continued learning (SDG 4) for their children and reduce inequalities (SDG 10) for a brighter, sustainable future.
